It's RYLA time!  Once again this year we have an amazing opportunity to change the lives of two special young people.  Initiated 44 years ago, RYLA has become one of Rotary's most successful programs.  Every year thousands of young people all over the world attend RYLA weekends designed to develop leadership skills in the leaders of tomorrow.  We want to send two awardees so read the following for details and send all potential names to President Sandy.  It is a fun and action packed weekend they will never forget!

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards provides us with an opportunity to sponsor someone from our club or our community to "learn the ropes" of leadership.  When we sponsor a RYLA participant, we have the potential to expand membership in our club, gain exposure in our community and contribute to the personal development of a member of our community.

The program is targeted for the young adult who is entering the job force or in the job force beyond entry level but not in a management role. RYLA participants are also exposed to values that Rotarians deem essential for those who hold leadership roles: ethical behavior, integrity of character, and a commitment to community service. RYLA in District 7790 is unique! Since we are a bi-lingual district, attendees will be exposed to two cultures, overcome a language barrier and build friendships across the border.

RYLA gives awardees an opportunity to:
• Develop leadership skills
• Increase self-confidence & self-esteem
• Meet community leaders and mentors
• Gain exposure to a variety of issues and people
• Learn about Rotary International (and potentially join!) and MAKE LIFELONG MEMORIES!

The dates for this year's program are September 18th -20st, 2015. The program takes place at Adventure Bound Caratunk, Maine.

The weekend includes lodging, 7 meals (3 lunches, 2 breakfasts & 2 dinners), the leadership program, and fun & challenging activities. The candidate must be between the ages of 21 and 35. This experience has numerous physical and mental challenges, which test logic, communication skills, encourage teamwork and enables the individual to build confidence and overcome personal obstacles.

The deadline for us to register participants is approaching fast, so please think of anyone that you think might benefit from this fantastic opportunity and submit their name to President Sandy asap.
