The Avenue Less Traveled
Rotary Road Trips - more than just a good time!
You may have noticed that every so often we take our meeting off site to a local establishment: Pat's Pizza, UMaine, Angelo's, even the Landfill! These outings are a really great time and a nice way to get to know your fellow club members and their families even better in a relaxed and far less structured atmosphere.
We all enjoy our Road Trips but they are more than just fun outings. When we go to different places of business and learn a little about the occupation of the owner or employee hosting us, we are also exercising Vocational Service by acknowledging the worthiness of useful occupations - part of the second Object of Rotary. It is this Avenue of Service that is the fundamental basis for the reason we all have classifications. The next Road Trip is slated for May 14th. Join in the fun, learn about the vocation of a local business person, and celebrate this often elusive Avenue of Service.
