Making Friends The Rotary Way
Do you like to travel? With Rotary Friendship Exchange the opportunities are nearly endless!! Our district is planning a group exchange this year and the deadline for the preliminary application is approaching. We are in the process of organizing the first Friendship Exchange in our district.
In order to insure a good start for this program in our district, we chose to do it with a district which has more than ten years of experience in Friendship Exchanges. It is District 4480 in Brazil, in the province of Sao Paulo.
The complete agenda for the exchange (two weeks) is not yet final. But here are some elements of information:
- Number of participants : 14 to 20 (preferably couples)
- Period : from November 20 to December 4, 2015.
- Cities to be visited : Sao José do Rio Preto, Catanduva, Lins, Promissao, Barretos, Novo Horizonte, Olimpia.
- Activities : friendly meetings with Rotary Clubs in each city; visits to local attractions (distillery; ethanol plant); visits to plantations (orange, coffee, etc.); visits to thermal stations, spas, etc.; visits to local social programs maintained by the visited clubs; participation in days/evening feasts (typical for the region) like barbecues, social meetings, dances, etc.; free time for shopping; participation to TV/Radio shows, etc.
It is time for us to get organized and to know how many persons are interested.
Members interested in participating must fill the preliminary inscription form and send it back to me, by post or by email with a scanned copy attached, before April 30, 2015.
Brazilians from District 4480 will visit us by the end of August or the beginning of September 2016.
