Remember when you were a kid, how good it felt to have the teacher put a gold star on your collar?

That’s how a lot of us felt at the last meeting when Dave walked around sticking those ultra cool blue stickers on our name badges.  What are they?  And how can you get one?  It couldn’t be more easy…..

Those annual badge stickers are given to those who are current Sustaining Members of the Rotary Foundation.  The Sustaining Member program has been around for a very long time and it is a vital part of the security and growth of our foundation.  These members have made a contribution to the foundation that speaks to their commitment to Rotary and the projects we as an organization choose to accomplish.

A Rotary Foundation Sustaining Member (RFSM) is an individual who personally contributes $100 or more each year to the Annual Fund. These contributions also count toward Paul Harris Fellow, Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, Paul Harris Society, Major Donor, and club recognition.

How can you get one?  Sure, you can write a check for $100 to the foundation and hand it to Sandy.  But to make it even easier, and surprisingly painless, you can sign up for Rotary Direct!

Rotary Direct is a recurring giving option that allows you to pick the level of giving and the frequency that works best for you.  You can give as little as $10 or as much as you want, and choose the payment plan from monthly, quarterly or annually.  Rotary will then charge the credit card you have supplied on that basis until you change or cancel the request.  So you can choose to be billed quarterly for $25 and VOILA….you are a Sustaining Member!!  Or pick $10 monthly and BAMM….Sustaining Member!!  And you can change or cancel it whenever you need to do so.

Can’t commit $100 a year?  You don’t have to give $100 to use Rotary Direct.  You can still use it to support this organization that you thought highly enough of to join.  Choose $10 quarterly, $25 annually, even $10 a year!  Rotary is YOUR club; TRF is YOUR foundation.  Rotary Direct is the easy, painless way to support YOUR projects.

You can go on the Rotary International website and sign up for Rotary Direct electronically or look on our club home webpage in the left column under Home Page Download Files and you will find a form you can print and mail in.  If you need help or you have any questions at all about how to use Rotary Direct, or you would simply like to discuss options for tailoring a giving plan to your own needs, please ask. Your Foundation Director Dave Wight will be happy to help you find a plan that is best for you.

If you would like to sign up electronically, just click on the Sustaining Member stickers below and it will take you to the RI Ways to Give page.  You will find the Rotary Direct enrollment form under the Recurring Giving section.
