Wow...you bowl and you get a kid???  Don't be ridiculous.....It's actually "Bowling For Kids' Sake" and it's coming to a bowling alley near you!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine has invited us to join in this year’s Bowl For Kids’ Sake.  This is their largest fundraising event of the year and the money raised is critical to support hundreds of Big/Little matches in Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Penobscot, Somerset and Waldo Counties.  By bowling in this event, we can change a child’s life for the better, forever!

There are three BFKS events to be held on the following dates:

Penobscot County BFKSMarch 28 – April 2 (at Family Fun Bowling Center in Bangor and Bangor Brewer Bowling Center in Brewer)

Midcoast BFKS April 4-14 (at Oakland Park Lanes, Rockport; All Play Family Entertainment Center, Belfast and Waldoboro; and Point Lookout Bowling Center, Northport); and

Kennebec Valley BFKSApril 28 – May 9 (at Sparetime Recreation in Waterville and Augusta; and Central Maine Family Fun Center in Skowhegan)

If we register by March 1, our team will automatically be registered in the “Early Bird Raffle Drawing” to win a nice team prize, plus we'll have the best choice of dates and times and have plenty of time to raise pledges before we bowl.  All teams that raise a minimum of $300 (per team) will receive colorful Bowl For Kids’ Sake t-shirts.

Each Bowler will be responsible for securing their pledges. Anyone who raises $100 or more automatically qualifies for the Grand Prize Raffle Drawing to win a prize valued between $500-1,000 (one winner for each region)!   There will also be special V.I.B. (Very Important Bowler) t-shirts for any bowler who raises $500 or more!  Pledge sheets are available as well as instructions for setting up an online fundraising page so friends can make online pledges to you, and some ideas to maximize your fundraising efforts.

President Corina will talk more on this topic at this week's meeting to gauge interest in forming a team or providing any sort of sponsorship....so if you are interested speak up....maybe you could be a team captain!!  If you'd like more information about the event, click on the picture below to go to the Big Brothers Big Sisters website.
